Our Heart for the People of Iran
Dear friends,
Iran has been enduring deep suffering and the situation is getting even harder. For over 43 years people of all backgrounds and faiths have suffered injustice, oppression, and persecution under the Islamic regime. Recent weeks have shown once again that the Iranian government is willing to commit crimes against its own people. We all long for a day when Iranians can live in a more righteous society without fear of their government.
In these critical days, it is vital for us to increase our intercession and efforts to serve the good of the people of Iran.
May all of us who are part of the Iranian church be salt and light at this time. May the Spirit of the Lord be on us so may we bring healing to the hurting and bind up the broken hearted. May we continue to share the good news of the gospel to all and proclaim louder than ever that ‘Jesus is Lord’. May we serve and provide for those in need. May we all, wherever we are, speak with wisdom and courage to advocate for the rights of those who are oppressed. May the church be peacemakers, with Jesus always our example.
May we also increase our intercession. We pray that God’s kingdom would come and his will be done in Iran. We pray that justice will roll on like a river and righteousness like a never-ending stream (Amos 5:24) and that the people of God would act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8) .
As part of our efforts to generate more prayer, we encourage Christians everywhere to join a day of prayer for Iran on October 23, 2022.
Here are some easy resources to help you mobilize your church to pray:

In Christ,
David Yeghnazar
