Elam greatly values the partnership of all our friends throughout the world as we seek to fulfil our mission to strengthen and expand the church in the Iran region and beyond. This policy applies to those who engage with us, whether you are a financial supporter, a prayer supporter, a visitor or user of one of our websites, or a purchaser of our resources. If you live in the UK, the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, Elam UK is the controller of your personal information. If you live anywhere else, Elam USA is the data controller.

4 - What information do we collect?

We only ever collect the information we need or which you agree we can collect. This includes personal information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, email address, postal address, telephone number, and bank account or payment card details. It also includes IP addresses (the location of a computer on the internet), details of pages visited on our websites and files downloaded.

Sensitive information

Occasionally, we may collect personal information that, in some countries, is considered sensitive or special, such as information about your health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, or religious or philosophical beliefs. We will only do this if there is a clear reason for doing so, such as involvement in an event where we need this information to ensure safeguarding, to carry out appropriate checks on volunteers, or care for participants. We will only use this information for the specific purpose for which you gave permission and where it is within our legitimate interests to process or where we have other legal grounds to do so.

Children

If you are aged 16 or under, please ensure that you have your parent or guardian's permission before giving us your personal information.

We collect your personal information in the following ways:

Information that you give us directly

We collect this information in connection with specific activities. For example, when you use our websites or printed forms or telephone our offices to, amongst other things:

Our website contains links to other websites belonging to third parties and we sometimes choose to participate in social networking websites. We do not have any control over their privacy practices.

We will keep personal information only for as long as we need it to maintain our relationship with you, provide you with the products, services or information you requested.

For personal information that we have about you:

  • Delete Data: You can ask us to erase or delete all or some of your personal information.
  • Change or Correct Data: You can edit some of your personal information through your account.
  • Object to, or Limit or Restrict, Use of Data: You can ask us to stop using all or some of your personal data.
  • Right to Access and/or Take Your Data: You can ask us for a copy of your personal data.

15 - Complaints, compliments or comments

We want to know if you are unhappy with our work or something that we have done or failed to do. We also welcome your views on what we do well.

16 - Changes to the Privacy Policy

We keep this policy under regular review. If we make any significant changes in the way we treat your personal information, we will make this clear on our websites or by contacting you directly.

This policy is effective from 7 October 2019.
