Philosophy and the Christian Faith

The relationship between philosophy and the Christian faith can hardly be called a perfect union — it is neither perfect nor, indeed, a real union, and many Christians regard an interest in philosophy as a suspect and dangerous attachment. Without claiming to be comprehensive, this book surveys a broad sweep of time in examining the relationship between philosophy and Christian faith, beginning in the Middle Ages with Augustine, Anselm, and Aquinas and continuing to the modern era and the analytic and linguistic philosophies.
